Local History Boffin?

After writing a blog post last year about the silk spinning industry in Brighouse, I was contacted by the ‘Friends of Brighouse Railway Station’, a charitable organisation that works on making our railway station a pretty place to wait for a train. They were planning some display boards for the station with interesting information about Brighouse, and wanted to base a board about the silk industry here on my blog post. I proud as punch about this little incident. It felt like I had become a recognised local history boffin.

This weekend Dave, who regularly used to (pre-pandemic) use Brighouse station for his daily commute to work. Indeed, the existence and proximity of a railway station was a key factor in choosing to buy our house.
