As well as being a handknit designer, I’m very active in my local Labour party. This has led me to apply to become a Labour councillor, and in November I was selected to be the candidate for Skircoat ward in Halifax. I’m now busy designing campaign resources. For these I have been using the first version of the Labour rose logo, which was a full-stemmed red rose. I think this feminises my campaign resources. I have of course had to put aside my Yorkshire preference for white roses!
