I’ve been playing with an idea for an autumn-themed cowl knitted in Yorkshire Warmth. I first created this colourwork idea, which is based on an antique filet crochet pattern, for a scarf design in another yarn, but think it adapts well to Yorkshire Warmth colours.
One of the things I’m considering doing is making this a lined cowl to hide the floats on the inside, maybe worked in a similar way to my overlace patterns (eg Cowlersley). The underlayer would need working on smaller needles though, as unlike overlace, the stranded colourwork layer would knit at a tighter gauge than the stocking stitch underlayer.
