On Saturday me and my sister attended the ‘Hand In Glove’ talk and exhibition by Angharad Thomas at Bankfield Museuum in Halifax. Angharad is a member of our Huddersfield branch of the Knitting and Crochet Guild who has spent several years researching and knitting traditionally styled gloves, including Yorkshire Dales and Sanquhar gloves. The exhibition presents lots of old and new gloves, a mixture of items from the guild and Angharad’s collections. It was wonderful to see so many knitted gloves collected together, and lots of antique and modern knitting-related bits and pieces.
