I am delighted to invite you to join me for a week of knitting masterclasses at Manzac d’en Bas in southwest France from Monday 15th May to Monday 22nd May 2017. Giles and Louise Nevill will be our hosts, providing excellent food and accommodation at their beautiful retreat in the French countryside.
The Classes:
Our focus will be stranded colourwork. I will teach everything you need to know to knit a Hedgerow cardigan, or any other stranded colourwork project, including how to create a bespoke fit, planning colour and colour placement, swatching for colourwork, Fair Isle knitting techniques, steeking, and much, much more. I will also be available throughout the week for general knitting tuition to fit your specific needs.
Other Highlights:
Day excursions will include visits to a local angora goat farm and a yarn shop. We will also eat out at local restaurants on two occasions during our stay.
The accommodation at Manzac d’en Bas combines traditional charm with comfort and modern amenities. In addition, the facilities include a 13x6m swimming pool, a studio/summer-room, and a two acre garden with a variety of outdoor spaces to relax, knit, eat and socialise.
Cost:
The cost of the Manzac d’en Bas part of this holiday (not including the knitting tuition) will be €795 per person. For those who wish to share accommodation there is a 10% reduction for both people sharing, making the cost €715 each.
This covers accommodation, food, drink and transport (airport transfers and local excursions). We will have two meals at nearby restaurants, the cost of which is additional, for which we suggest a budget of about €50 – €65 per person, payable at the time.
The knitting tuition (approximately 20 hours) will cost £250 per person.
Other Info:
Non knitting partners are most welcome, but if they have a specific interest that they want to pursue, such as photography or art, which requires them to be independent transport-wise, then they will need their own car.
Places are strictly limited to 8-12 persons, depending on the number of people sharing. If you would like to join me for this holiday please book quickly to avoid disappointment. Giles and Louise will then contact you to confirm your booking, to assist with your travel arrangements, and to give you any further information that you need.
