Most appropriately for the Advent season, we’ve had snow in our corner of Yorkshire this weekend. Indeed, as my sister Marie and I left Halifax Town Hall on Saturday afternoon there was a veritable blizzard.

We were at the Town Hall for sthe Mayor’s Festive Fayre, at which I had s stall selling my yarn, books and patterns. Decorating the stall we had some Yorkshire Hobs (hearth elves), Wesley Bobs, and several crochet snowflakes that myself and Marie had made over the previous few days. The lovely snowflakes are not my designs, but are the ingenious work of Julia Hart. She has designed many different crochet snowflakes, each of them stunning. Mostly we have crocheted the Wispvale snowflake (a free pattern!), but the Eiralore snowflake is my favourite. At £2 the pattern is extremely good value.
