Having established that Yorkshire folk knitted stranded colourwork stars well over two centuries ago, I’ve found new motivation to work with star motifs in my own designs. It’s quite a few years since I last did so. That was for my book Stranded Knits, which includes five patterns that feature star motifs. These are the Pleiades hat and fingerless mittens set, the Corona Borealis jumper, the Snowstar jumper, and the Polaris tablet cover.
Today I charted this, which I think has a particularly festive feel. I’m planning a hat design with it. It will probably be a pompom hat worked in my Yorkshire Warmth dk/sportweight yarn.
