Last year I bought a rather dilapidated Victorian armchair. I loved the chair shape, and knew reupholstery would mend its shabby appearance. Choosing the fabric covering was fun. I wanted wool, and found some gorgeous upholstery fabrics from the Yorkshire mill, Abraham Moon, whom I have previously bought fabric from for dressmaking. After much deliberation I chose the ‘’Malham’ wool plaid in the lime colourway, combined with a strong green ‘Melton’ wool. I asked my local upholsterer, Ian of Holme Upholstery to work his magic on my chair. He used horsehair and wool for the filling, so the whole chair is comprised of natural materials. This pleases me no end!
Ian is a true craftsman, with a wonderful commitment to excellence, so the chair looks amazing!
