Steeked!

I’ve cut the steek on the stranded colourwork sampler cushion I’m making. First I applied double crochet to each side stitch column I pkanned to cut. This is the most well-known form of ateek reinforcement. However, I don’t find it as reliable as slip-stitch crochet reinforcement. Because the cushion is for teaching purposes, I also applied slip-stitch crochet reinforcement so that I can show students how both methods look in a finished piece. I’ve also started knitting the edging on one side of the steek:
