During February I ran a mystery joint mystery knit-along with my dear friend and fellow designer, Sarah Alderson. It was a fantastic experience, with over 200 participants and lots of content. Everyone had so much fun, not least because of all the jokes the ‘lice’ pattern in the cuff inspired (one participant used to be a ‘Nitty Nora’, the school nurse who inspects for headlice!). We got excellent feedback from participantsboth during and after the knit-along. The weekly Periscope broadcasts we did together, and the YouTube tutorials we provided each week were particularly popular. Some participants even claimed that it was the best knit-along ever. That was particularly gratifying for us!
We ended the knit-along with a prizegiving; three winners for each of us. I awarded my prizes as follows:
A digital copy of Stranded Knits went to ninabos for excellent progression in knitting and other skills, including her first posts in Ravelry!
Two balls of King Cole Merino Blend 4ply went to PinkPot for her brilliant finished project photo composition!
A pattern of the winner’s choice from my Ravelry store went to JanetRiceBredin for stunning use of colour! (She chose A Great British Knit)
Now everyone wants to know when our next joint knit-along will be. Maybe later this year?
