Here we are. His wife is holding the yarn and the Lord Mayor is attempting to knit. Alas, he wasn’t really keen to learn, so we didn’t advance his skills very far. However, he was very admiring of all the knitting we had on show though which included fabulous pieces by Pat Ashworth and Steve Plummer of Woolly Thoughts. As the event was held in an art gallery there was a kind of poetic correctness about having Steve’s illusion knit Mona Lisa there, a truly spectacular piece.
The Lord Mayor was especially admiring of the Knit Camp vest, and Jo Watson (Knit Camp organiser) asked me to tell him about how I designed and made it. Steve Plummer was on hand with his camcorder, so I am able to share this little video with you. Whilst showing him the vest we noticed that one of the fabulous illusion knitted mats under the table needed straightening, so when you see me ducking down I promise it was not to kiss the Lord Mayor’s feet! ;0)

Impressing… a knitcamp here would not atrackt so much atention… We could learn from you.
Love the new look on the blog
