Description
The Wassail Scarf features reversble cables, so it looks the same on both sides of the scarf. It also features huge pompoms!
SIZE
From tip to tip the finished scarf measures 176cm/69″ long without pompoms, and is 21cm/81⁄2wide for 136cm/54of the length.
MATERIALS
2 colours of aran/heavy worsted weight yarn with approximately 160 metres/175 yards per 100g. You will need 400g of MC and 100g of CC.
The pictured sample was made with King Cole Merino Blend Aran in the Aran #776 (MC), and Claret #777 (CC) shades
NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
5mm/US 8 needles for flat knitting.
Proprietary or homemade pompom makers for making 2 pompoms of 9cm/31⁄2″ diameter.
TENSION/GAUGE
28 sts and 28 rows per 10cm/ 4″ in blocked cable and garter stitch pattern. Though exact tension is not important for this design, working at a different tension will affect yarn requirements.
