Description
These festive slippers are a quick project for gifting either to yourself or a loved one.
Design features include the decorative pompoms, cables, icord edging, short row heel, and a garter stitch sole (for grip).
SIZE
To fit foot circumferences up to 24 (261⁄2)cm/91⁄2(101⁄2)”. The finished slippers measure 21(24)cm/81⁄4(91⁄2)” around at the mid-foot.
MATERIALS
2 colours of light aran/worsted weight yarn with approximately 200 metres/219 yards per 100g. You will need 100g of MC and 25g of CC.
The pictured sample was made with Rowan ‘Pure Wool Superwash Worsted’ in the Rich Red #124 (MC) and Soft Cream #102 (CC)
shades.
NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
4mm/US 6 needles for your preferred method of small diameter circular knitting and flat knitting. Adjust needle size as necessary to achieve specified tension.
Proprietary or homemade pompom makers for making 2 pompoms of 4cm/11⁄2″ diameter.
TENSION/GAUGE
26 sts and 34 rounds per 10cm/4″ in blocked cable pattern.
22 sts and 34 rounds per 10cm/ 4″ in blocked garter st
