What You’ll Learn
This class is the perfect introduction to stranded colourwork knitting – often known as “Fair Isle.” You’ll learn:
-
- How to knit with two colours at the same time
- Techniques for managing yarn tension to avoid puckering
- Tips for reading colourwork charts
- How to choose and place contrasting shades
- How to catch floats neatly at the back of your work
- Inspiration for incorporating stranded designs into your future project
By the end of the day, you’ll have knitted most of the Enid headband, and you will have the know-how to complete it as either a headband or a hat. You’ll also have the skills and confidence to take on any traditional or modern Fair Isle style pattern.
