A summer concert or a high school dance? You decide!
The pattern is written for 3 sizes, to fit 16½(19:21½)cm/6½(7½:8½)” hand circumferences. The finished gloves measure approximately 62(64:66)cm/24½(25¼:26)” long by 11½(12½:13½)cm/ 4¼:(4¾:5¼)” wide at the largest dimension.
To make the gloves you will need 100g of 3ply/ light fingering weight silk or silk blend yarn in the main colour, approximately 5 metres/5½ yards each of green and red silk embroidery threads, and 52 medium-sized (6mm) beads.
The pictured sample was knitted in hand-dyed ‘100% Silk 4ply’ (800m/874 yards per 100g) from The Knitting Goddess.
The roses on the hands are applied with Swiss Darning, aka duplicate stitch. If preferred this can be omitted.
Tension/gauge is 36 stitches and 48 rounds per 10cm/4″ in stocking stitch/stockinette after blocking. Suggested needle size is 2mm/US 0.
