Last week we released the first ‘clue’ in the ‘Neck & Neck‘ cowl mystery knitalong (MKAL). This is the second mystery knitalong I have jointly designed and run with my good friend Sarah Alderson, who as well as being a busy GP and clinical lecturer, manages to run a handknit design business under the nane ‘Aldersign‘!
This time last year our first MKAL was for the ‘On The Other Hand‘ fingerless mittens, and was a phenomenal success. Our MKAL this year is similary popular, with well over a hundred participants, and lots of chatter in the Ravelry group. You are very welcome to join us – just buy the Neck & Neck pattern, which is currently much cheaper than the planned final price, and join the Ravelry group.
The purpose of our MKALs is to bring folk together for a fun experience with lots of learning opportunities, using two design options each week to provide participants with lots of choice. So this year we’ve started with two unusual cast-on options, which have delighted many participants, and the choice of a cable or a stranded colourwork design. Some speedy knitters have already completed the first section of their cowl,
Jmaraul (Rav name) has knitted the cables option:

I’ll be back next week with news about Part Two!
