Lady of the Wood

These feminine leafy lace gloves feature
beaded edgings at the finger base and
thumb and pointed scalloped edging at the
wrist. Named for Galadriel, the elven queen
who is 'Lady of the Wood' in J. R. R.
Tolkien's 'Lord of The Rings' trilogy.

Intermediate level knitters with experience
of lace and provisional cast-ons should find
this project relatively easy. The pattern
includes full written instructions and lace
chart, and links to online tutorials for those
techniques that are beyond advanced
beginner level (beading, small diameter
circular knitting, provisional cast-ons).

Suggested needle size is 2mm/US 0,  either
DPNs , or one 80cm/32" long circular for the
magic loop method, or two 60cm/24" long
circulars.

Yarn requirements are 25 – 30g/220- 260
metres/240-290 yards of a 2ply /laceweight
yarn. The gloves pictured were knitted with
Lambswool 2ply from Texere Yarns, hand-
dyed by my sister using British food
colouring! The project also requires 56 size
6/0 seed beads.
